Although I love my Weber Smokey Mountain it doesn’t come with a built in thermometer…. which is really a must have for a smoker. I was getting tired of having a thermometer stuck into the top vent, so after reading the Virtual Weber Bullet site postings about various folks modifications I decided to join the insanity and drill a hole in my WSM.

New Weber Smokey Mountain
So i finally got a true smoker to compliment by Weber Kettle grill. I forgot to take pictures of my first pulled pork, but I will the next one. I made my own sauce for the first time and it turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself. Here’s the recipe:
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tsp Tabasco
1 tsp Worcestershire
1 tsp kosher salt
saute some thin sliced onions with some olive oil
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp oregano leaves
1 tsp cumin
1 tbsp sesame oil
Heat it up in a sauce pan for a few minutes and put on as much as you like
