Disabling D630 touchpad when mouse plugged in

Filed under: Useful Tech Tips — Jeffito @ 3:23 pm

My friendly neighborhood architect sent me this note on how to disable my touch pad. I hope others find it helpful as well.

I find the touch pad to be a pain – I accidentally hit it when typing.

To disable it you likely need to install an updated drive (ftp://ftp.us.dell.com/input/R165804.exe), restart, and then choose the touch pad settings from the mouse settings in the control panel, and then choose touchpad ‘Device select’ and disable the pad when the USB mouse is plugged.
