Stop over in Montreal

Filed under: Personal Insights — Jeffito @ 6:08 pm

I’m sitting here at the montreal airport waiting for my flight to Toronto and I’m struck by a few things.

First of all, how does a city the size of Montreal get by with an airport this size? This airport can’t be more than twice the size of Halifax and Montreal is a hell of a lot larger than Halifax. Nice airport…. Just needs more “stuff”.

Also, where are all the well dressed ladies? This town is known for dressing better than this? I’m going to assume that they are all tourists and all the locals are sleeping in this AM.

Finally, most of the fun of a layover is watching the parents of small kids try and control them. The kids are yelling and crawling over everything and the parents always seem to tired to even fight. The men look desperate and the ladies look disappointed.

I’m beginning to think there should be a special airline for young parents. It would cost a bit more, but it would have things like sedatives for kids, bigger changing rooms and maybe big screen TVs for Dad. Although I’m sure someone would take that over and put on some damn cartoon.

I just discovered I can send posts to my blog from my blackberry. This means all those downtimes when I am sitting around I can post some useless thought that pops in my head :)

Summer is here… sorta. God help my golf game.

Filed under: Personal Insights — Jeffito @ 9:48 pm

Well I’ve been a bit lazy to update my blog lately. Just to busy with work, etc. Hard to believe but when I get home I just haven’t felt like being on the PC.

I have been focusing on my golf game. I’ve been golfing a couple times a week since the middle of April and it’s paying off. I’ve knocked about 16 strokes of my game and I am starting to feel pretty comfortable around the green. Well I was anyways….

I bought a new Taylor Made 580XD driver a couple weeks ago and I think I made a mistake on Saturday. I’m not really a wake up early golfer. I rather enjoy sleeping in and showing up for an afternoon round, but for some reason I decided that I wanted to get an early round in so I deiced that me and the guys would golf at 7:30AM. What a huge mistake. I only got like 3 hours sleep cause I well never go to bed before 2am and the marshal at Granite Springs was being a bit ridiculous and was rushing everyone along. I honestly can’t remember the last 4 hour and 15 minutes round when I was part of a foursome…. on foot. So combining all these factors and then throw in a new driver and I shot a 106…. that’s right a 106. Scary!

At least it was warm. I actually had snow flurries last month during one round. That’s dedication!
